Well, si.com's soccer section lists the signing as Juan Pablo Angel as the second most significant under the DP rule thus far, behind Luciano Emilio, and yes, David Beckham (3rd respectably). Also on the list was Claudio Reyna (5th). This means that two of the top five most significant signings, according to Ryan Hunt, are by the Red Bulls, whom Hunt affectionately states may be the surprise of the season.
However, in a move that will send John Mosc and myself into a frenzy over whose name to chant ad nauseum prior to the opening whistle, Marvell Wynne is gone for cash and a draft pick.
While he may resemble a velociraptor, he will be missed. Where else on this team are we going to find someone who wears his intensity on his sleeve, and/or acknowledge our sophomoric antics?
